What is "doming"?

Doming is a finishing process that applies crystal-clear, liquid

polyurethane in a metered dose to the top surface of a decal. The

liquid resin, which has the consistency of honey, flows to the edge of

the decal and is trapped by capillary attraction, thus preventing the

resin from overflowing past the edge of the vinyl decal. The liquid

is then cured to produce a finished product with a domed, bubbled, or

lens effect / appearance. This provides an incredible 3 dimensional

effect on the decal, and also offers a substancial amount of

protection from scratches, etc. Unlike epoxy, polyurethane will NEVER

turn yellow- even with years of sun exposure.

I also make CUSTOM domed products! Just email me and let me know what you'd like...

Domed wheel center cap overlays are very popular (and withstand the abuse much better than a non-domed decal would):

One of these days I'll get around to placing an order but I've go ta quick question for you on the domed thing. Eventually I wanna get the 4 bowties in olive drab with ZR2 inside it in black (my bowties are all painted olive drab now). I really like the flat color though. Will the polyurethane itself make the color appear more glossy? I'm guessing yes but figured I'd ask cause it would be cool to have the decal protected if it didn't.

Yep- it will make anything appear super glossy.

Imagine your olive drab paint with 1/16in of clear coat on top of it. :D

These are 1in x 4.5in.

I'm sure cowl hood rises vary, so you'd have to measure to see how they'd fit. Maybe cut a piece of paper to that exact size and tape it on- stand back and see how it'd look.

Of course I can make them in other sizes, too.
