these arent set in stone....

Mike29734174 has 33's on a stock truck i believe

Man I don't really trust that Seapahn guy who wrote that post either but it's post like these that really tend to confuse people: "33s on a stock truck"? There is no way. It's simply not the case that you can have a functional truck with tires that measure 33" in diameter on a completely stock ZR2 truck with stock suspension height and stock wheels (that's what "stock" means). This is especially confusing since 33's usually means the most common size which is 33x12.5. If you mean 33x10.5, that should be clarified. If it is stock but with torsion bar crank, that also should be clarified. What is the actual diameter of the tire? That should be clarified. For example 35" goodyear MTRs might actually measure 34" in real life.

I find it hard to believe 33's would fit on a stock truck at all.

I have 33x10.5 KM2's on Z28 rims, rubbed with a 2" BL and Tbars cranked while turning for the front and over every little bump on the passenger rear

LS1 flares front and a bit of trimming in the rear and I'm good for street use. off-roading with the sway bar disconnected, the front would rub every once in a while and the back will rub when flexing since the tire diameter is pretty much the same size as the wheel opening.

I now have shackles in the rear so I probably would have been ok without the trimming now.

Thats my experience, I think there is a difference from truck to truck but I can't see it being big enough to make a huge difference in what it takes to clear 33's

edit: and incase anyone is wondering, or doesn't know, 33x10.5 KM2's measure 32.7 new, unloaded

I'm rolling 33x10.5 KM2's with just a set of superlift 2" keys (uca's also). I had to beat and cut on my fenders but nothing major. I rub when wheelin' at certain points ofcourse but none at all on road besides the sway bar at full lock...no rub in the back whatsoever on/off road with no trimming. This is on a S10.

A friend of mine ran 33" on a completely stock ZR2 Blazer with just some trimming on the front fenders. Even off roading, it was fine.Didn't run into problems until she switched to an aftermarket rim with less backspacing.

Unless you can provide more details, (type of tire, how much trimming etc) statements like that aren't helping and are just confusing the matter more. Also the type of offroading will affect how badly someone would rub as well.

This is the 33 crammed into the back wheel well, and it is rubbing front and back, so I don't believe for a second that anyone can run a 33" tire off road and not rub without trimming. I guess the only thing would be if it's a very small 33 or they are old and have been worn down a lot already.

35's offset alot with a 5" bds and SL 2" and i wasnt afraid to cut when it came to my fenders. rubbed only offroad in the front when steering and thrashing. on the street it was fine. after the 2" BL i had handfulls of clearance.
and one last pic for the site.

Cranking the t-bars is a terrible way to lift, might as well put a grenade under the truck.

Even if it does clear, it is still not worth it.

You should be able to fit the 33s with just the BL and trimming. I'm not a fan of body lifts though, so that's all you're going to get from me. lol.gif

Yup, you want it at factory specs since it is already the weak point.

I know my buddy cranked up the torsion bars on what is now my Z. I'm wondering, if I wanted to crank them back down, how do I know what is the stock spec?

I've got to debate the 33x12.5xR15 statement. I have a 6" SL, torsion bar cranked some, and am running brand new Pro Comp Xterrain's that are 33x12.5xR15 with 4.5"BS. So far no issues off road......just saying.
