If I didn't already have the motor I would have went with an LS series also. Hard to beat 6 bolt mains stock.

Despite the issues, delays, and increased costs I've had during my swap, I don't regret picking an LS motor for an instant.

So much more potential, such a great platform.

so true. i would have gone the ls way myself. but by the time i had the funds to do my swap i had researched the vortec so much that i could probably swap one in while catching some zzzz's

i may have spoken too soon about the lockups on my latest pcm. bryan from pcmforless told me he set it to lock up at 30mph at light throttle and 40+ the more im on it. the problem with this is that when i accelerate from zero to say 40-45 i will get lockup in 3rd gear around 35 mph then come out of lockup to shift up to fourth gear then i'll go back into lockup around 45-50. im not sure if this would cause any mechanical problems. might even help my mpgs in the city, but it's certainly annoying.

he also has the shift points delayed a little bit to firm up the shifts. i like the way blackbear did my transmission tune much better. maybe i'll send pcm for less my tuned pcm from blackbear and tell them to copy the trans to the letter.

Im considering a vortec 5.7 swap because that has the highest chance of passing a visual emissions test in the state of missouri. Technically all v8 swaps are not emissions legal in missouri. My blazer was exempt from emissions but myself and my father were both certifed to do safety and emissions insepctions at the time so it wouldnt have mattered.

I'm calling the V8 swap officially done. i ended up sending my pcm out to pcm for less one last time to have them decrease the shift firmless a little and keep the trans from locking up in 3rd gear.  everything works now exactly as it should..... well except for my AC haha. im a windows down kinda guy so i'll wait until it's 100 degrees outside in july before i worry about charging the system back up.

Future plans include a larger capacity radiator and dodge intrepid efans. I've had no issues with the corvette radiator and tarus fan as of yet, but anytime i come to a stop for more than a minute the taurus fan kicks on. id just like to get a higher capacity radiator so that i don't feel so dependent on my e-fan to get me through traffic. and i've already got a set of dodge intrped fans that will give me more coverage and hopefully pull a few more cfm while being a little quiter.

after that. who knows....

congrats. I've been trying to find a way to make my AC work. I can't put it in front of my core support because I have a custom bumper with winch.

If I could find a narrower AC condenser to fit between the outer radiator 'main' fins I could almost fit it back where it used to be. Anyone have an idea which one would work? It needs to be about 26" wide by 14" tall.
