I've used docs to go since the treo450 days.

I won't be editing docs. It's for maps and sonar and data translation/interpolation.
Ones and zeros to low res pictures.

And whoever said you can't edi documents with iPad is wrong. You have to download an app called documents to go but there are many many other apps that will allow you to edit word/exel/etc

Partially true. I would like to see how an ipad handles a 200,000+ line spreadsheet full of formulas and macros that normally bogs down a quad core desktop. It would be challenged just to open and view it, let alone to do any editing in it. The editing tools are also extremely basic. I can view documents and pdfs on my Razr too, but it takes forever compared just to open them compared to a computer.

So yes, while you can technically edit documents with a tablet, they are a long way from a computer replacement.

There is a paid documents to go for ipad that is much more advanced than the free one. The new iPad has a quad core processor as well. I'm not saying it can handle what you are using it for or it's a solution for ducks but they are much better than you would think and tons of things you can't do with a laptop. I hate hp laptops they are shit. I have had two different models and on both the videocards went out. The video card and the motherboard are one piece and cost almost more than a new laptop would cost.
