I'm getting ready to buy a PA body lift. Don't know 2 or 3 inch yet. Are the gap guards you can purchase for extra from performance accessories any good or should I make my own? I have seen some homemade ones but never seen the ones you can purchase with the kit. Im wondering how the quality of the ones from PA is or if I'd be better off making my own. Thanks!

Just do a suspension lift. Much better IMO and doesn't make gaps. You will be much happier.

Is it just as cheap? I'm not going to be doing any hardcore 4 wheelin or anything so I'm kinda going just for looks. I know te suspension is better for performance.

Going with a BL is the wrong direction if looks is what you're after, suspension lifts are not cheap either readit.gif

There have been some good used parts around here lately. I had a bl for a few hundred miles and took it off. If you just want to fit bigger tires get a bl. If you want your truck to look nice and fit bigger tires suspension lift. I think the sl 2 inch is 750 with shocks. But you can piece together if you wait it out.

Where did I say anything good about a body lift. My comment was pro suspension lift, and I mean a REAL suspension lift.

Oh shit... Sorry I must me losing my mind. I'm with you that's why I dished out the $$$ on mine. 2 inch isn't a bad option just easier to install and a lot smaller lift.

Yes it is, and it isn't even a lift.

My bds 5" does not allow me to run tires any bigger. 32's rub.
If you stay in mall parking lots you might be ok.

What makes the suspension lift look better than the body lift? I've seen a lot of body lifts that look really good!

You don't create gaps, or show more frame than you should ever see.

Get rid of those worthless fucking wheels, and you would be fine.

It's personal preference.
Buy the body lift. It's cheaper and will do all you want.
Buy or make your gap covers, It's not a thing one way or the other.

Tires rub on center rear of front wheel well not on flares. Offset would move where I rub, not negate rubbing.
REAR tire does now catch the flare on the rear. Offset would fix that. But since no one else has a spring pack like mine the problem isn't duplicatable except on coil or links.

Show me.

And is that with the wheel turned or straight? If it's turned that is 100% caused by offset.

It has folded up the metal where the wheelwell meets the Fender.
I've I think its at full compression and at a crawl.

It looks like your body is forward on the frame an abnormal amount. That would explain The sever rubage on the rear of the rear flare.

Are those 33s?

This stock suspension at full compression, see how it's more centered in the wheel well?

I wonder if your truck was in an accident before you got it. I've seen bodies shift on quite a few before.

I'm going to move the body back when I do the h3 torsion bars.
Those tires are 32 mtrk but are really 31.25. I just measured them to change speedo for 4.10's.
It might have had. Body lift prior to the bds. Might have been shifted then.
No signs if paint or repair.
