Wasn't sure of the details, and so it didn't make it on the flyer but...

Instead of a Hog Roast, there will be a pork loin dinner on Saturday, included with the price of admission.

And of course, the weather has been so warm, the morels are way early and there won't be any for Memorial Day. Oh well.

This could be interesting for those who like mud~

The last two club meetings, along with the trail cleanup, have been cancelled due to foul weather. Specifically, lots of rain in the last month.

It's possible that the trails might not get a good cleaning and that the normally dry trails will be muddy, the normally muddy trails will be difficult and Jurassic Park will be off limits.
The creek doesn't change level much unless you're right in the middle of a flood, so it will be about the same, although there's several new cutouts in the bank for rigs to get out of the creek.

EDIT: Just found out trail cleanup happened yesterday.. LOL, me and my calendar. Report is trails are looking pretty good.

At any rate, our cleanup cancelled again today and Memorial Day weekend isn't far off.

Not sure if I'll make it down yet. Been pretty busy at work lately, and we just moved, so we're still getting settled in there. Should know better as we get closer to the event though.

I hear ya. Fortunately for me, I haven't moved and so am just putzing around with my truck. One good thing, I got my rear brakes working again - it appears that something, some crud got stuck in the proportioning valve. I flushed it out, put back together and the rear brakes can be locked up again. Now, they make my front brakes look weak... I might look at those and see what can be improved.

And yes, my ZR2 is still here, and still mostly sits in the garage. I do use it to go north to the farm and bring loads of rocks back, so it does get some miles on it. I think it's up to about 65K now.

Nice, the most miles mine gets these days is pulling my flatbed around the yard for tree cleanup and the occasional scrap metal load.

Copied from the MIOBI board, so pardon broken links...
====================================
Well, for me personally, it all worked out well.

I did get some work done on the 4runner, stuff that was worse than I remembered. The brakes were really bad, and the oil leak where the timing chain had worn a hole thru it's cover had STOPPED leaking oil. I took that as a bad sign.

Replaced all brake pads and had to replace the front calipers, 2 of the 4 pistons had siezed up. Played with the proportioning valve and the brakes actually worked pretty well. Replaced timing chain and cover and that stupid tensioner (spelling?) they have in there. Found power steering pulley bearing shot and water pump shaft loose (but not leaking?) Replaced both.

The rig worked as well as I expected, I purposely didn't do anything very risky. Basically my normal loop with a couple long-ish, muddy climbs thrown in. I did get some video, but no pictures. The camera stopped taking pictures after I dropped it. :angry-banghead:

Hung out with a couple of jeeps (Doyle and his kid\friends) and then on Sunday a couple of FJ's joined us for awhile.

Great weather (we stayed home Friday night and avoided the rain), the trails were perfect IMO.

I have gotten a few videos up on youtube, they aren't edited at all. Search youtube for MIOBI Memorial 2012 to see more as I upload them.
