On our new project 1998 Zr2 blazer the rear passenger flare was smashed and as everyone knows they are almost impossible to find. I know the front flares are the the same between the truck and blazer but how about the rear flares?

They are different.

The GMC fronts are also different than the Chevy.

No time/ not worth the effort. We have a huge car show coming up on the 21st and we want to get our latest product done by then.

id have to disagree with that. i have a s10 z and i bought like the last front drivers gmc flare off the internet at rockauto.com... it fits exactly the same as the chevy flares and still comes down the fender the same length. i noticed the gmc flarrettes are a bit different due to the different bumper..but i think the flare just goes down over the top of the indented portion of the flarrette...so it appears to be higher up on the flare. but like i said im running a gmZ front flare and its exactly the same. length and everything

That's also a reproduction flare.

The GMC flare stops about a half inch before the bottom of the fender, while the chevy is flush. I have both trucks.

hmmm. so were all reproduction flares exactly the same? actually kinda interesting. not trying to start an arguement but my passenger front flare(chevy original) ends a half inch above the fender...my drivers flare(gmc reproduction) also ends a half inch above the fender line.....and since we've owned the truck since 2006 the drivers side front is the only one we ever replaced. and the history on the truck didnt show anything front end damage wise.so would it be possible in the 2000 the chevy and gmc fender flares are the same???

It depends. The companies the make reproduction parts don't always put as much research as they should into the parts they make. There is also the possibility of vendors sending the wrong parts.

Sounds like you have two GMC flares.

I'll try and get some pictures of the difference.

I'm not up on all the subtle differences on the flares but there is a black ZR2 blazer that I see around here all the time.

Looking from the back of the truck the rear flares are different.

DS rear flare smoothly rounds and rolls under the truck and the PS rear flare is squarish at the bottom. Almost pointy.

Drives me nuts everytime I see it.

Sounds like someone replaced one with a bushwacker flare.

Cool. I didn't think aftermarket 2 door blazer rears were even an option.

Don't look as nice with the point but nice to have an option.

I know they had ones for 4dr, so I would think they also have 2dr ones. idunno.gif
