If it is an auto trans you will also have to go through the starter hole and unbolt the converter from the flywheel. You will have to manually turn the engine to access all the bolts.

Why do you have the pan off, and why do you have the motor lifted?

It's had a knock for quite a while, it wasn't real high on his priority list, apparently.

Claims he was driving down the highway, 65MPH when everything "seized up".

He's officially more of an engine-killer than Josh. This is the second motor in 3 years or so that he's thrown a rod in.

That's more than just a rod knock, I bet that pan was dry as a bone.

Look at the heat marks on the pistons. That is absurd.

X2.... I'm with you on a dry motor..... You don't have a motor explode like that and have NO signs of oil splatter!! Crazyyyy....

Meh, new timing chain and gear set, gaskets, oil and its good as new again. Probably get better gas mileage since it weighs less too!

Aside from the obvious signs of neglect..... a little help to the OP. Remove the trans x-member, get the engine block as low as possible to original height, droop the trans, and use a 36" extension and a 15mm swivel socket to remove the trans to block bolts. And as stated above, remove the starter and unbolt the torque converter from the flex plate (do this before trying to remove trans to block bolts).

Holy Fuck X676273! You abused the Hell outta that motor. I bet 20 bucks it maybe had a drop of oil, if that. Keep up on your shit man. That thing in your glove box tells you when you should change oil and what not.

But if you wanna put your oil pan back in just undo your motor mounts( that's what holds the motor to the frame), and jack the engine up as far as it will go, and just hit the oil pan with a BFH. Then a few tack welfare and duck tape should make it all better. lol.gif
