Duratracs ftw. I've put over 20,000 hard miles on them and they are holding up like a champ. They have suprised me with their performance in jsut about every condition, they are extremely impressive in the snow. Street and offroad manners are excellent, took very little wieght to balance, and look great. Really can't say enough about them.

Like.

Some of mine took a lot of weight to balance for some reason, probly shitty stock wheels.

i have the Authority's, they are nice, they clean out well in the mud and they are very quiet on the highway at 75 mph. I havnt noticed any wear on them at all even though i only have <2000 miles on them.

don't have any experience with any of the other tires, but the BFG A/T's are a pretty damn good tire on anything but wet rocks, and as already stated they do throw pebbles like a bitch, but as for wear and snow traction they are great, just alittle too hard for my liking.

it also helps that i know a guy and got a really good deal on them stirringthepot.gif

I'm gonna be moving to Las Vegas soon and I wonder how the Authority's or Duratracs will hold up on pavement. A lot of my driving is on pavement, I just want an aggressive looking tire. Does anybody else here do the majority of their driving on pavement with these tires?

i'm mostly on pavement and even though i've only had them since January up here, they don't really show much wear at ~5000kms compared to my spare.

The duratracs were pretty much best dd/weekend wheeler tire that i found from all my research from numerous forums when i was tire shopping. I also have a buddy with a ranger that has has em for about 13k and they look great. Then i got a street queen jeeper bud with em and it's the same story there. I had bfg a/t's for about 15k miles and they looked great and wore great but they sucked everywhere else in my experience... I would have gotten duratracs but i went with bfg km2s for the 33x10.5 size..

I can get the Duratracs for $184 and the Authority's for $154. Are the Duratracs worth the extra $120?

$30 difference per tire x 4 tires = $120. I fail to see where the math's wrong?

I'm runnin Good Year Wrangler Duratrac I suggest them over the Authoritys a little better off road & great for winter, but if its a choice between the Authority & BFGs go with the Authoritys. Don't feed your money to the BFG brand name MONSTER.

Yeah, most of my driving will be highway in Vegas. I just want something that looks a little more aggressive than the all-season tires I have now. Any reduced gas mileage on those running the Authority's?

I got the BFG AT's

So far I love them, and I have put around 25k on them so far, and they are wearing great.

And a big step up from the BFG long trails that my Z came with.

I priced around and got people to price match, and thanks to Discount Tire I ended up paying about $120 each w RH for 31/1050 r15 rockon.gif

Are those stock size wheels and tires? Any wheel spacing?

My wheels are 15x8 Crager Soft 8's with 4.5" backspacing, so they stick out 2.5" more than stock and they rub a little. Tires are stock 31's

I just realized i still havnt rotated my tires since i bought them, im lazy.....

The stock back spacing is 6" so your only out 1.5" further. We ran the stock 31" tires on AR 15x8.5 wheels with 4" of backspacing on my son's '94 ZR2 and they rubbed like crazy. idunno.gif

yes but stock rims are 15x7, my 15x8's and 6" of backspacing would still stick out an inch.
