is this cam a good choice

found this cam while looking for parts just wondering if it will work with vortec heads

It should work. But if I were to use it, I'd make sure and measure everything so as to not exceed the max lift for a Vortec head ~.470-.480 range or thereabouts. You can always install Comp Beehive type springs and get like .550 lift with no machine work.

That is a flat tappet cam you know?

called them summit and asked if it would work they siad it will only work with a carbed engine.
on the specs it says it is a a roller cam
o well guess ill just get another cam

It has been a while, but I believe it was the LT4 hotcam that was a good choice for a stock L31. If you search this forum you will find a couple good threads talking about max lift, springs, heads, and cams.
