It should work. But if I were to use it, I'd make sure and measure everything so as to not exceed the max lift for a Vortec head ~.470-.480 range or thereabouts. You can always install Comp Beehive type springs and get like .550 lift with no machine work.

called them summit and asked if it would work they siad it will only work with a carbed engine.
on the specs it says it is a a roller cam

It has been a while, but I believe it was the LT4 hotcam that was a good choice for a stock L31. If you search this forum you will find a couple good threads talking about max lift, springs, heads, and cams.
