Would a 1" body lift for Vortec swap work?
Has anyone tried the AC relocation bracket for the LS series engines as an alternative to even doing a body lift?

The 1" body lift may or may not be quite enough for it to clear the AC lines. I opted for no body lift on mine, so I made my own motor mounts to lower the engine. Others have notched the hood for extra clearance. I'd say if you were going to go through the hassles of a lift, might as well go 2" to make it easier. This, we know for sure, WILL work as many have gone that route.
As for the AC relocation on the LSx motors... the AC is on the lower, passenger side so clearance isn't an issue with the hood. The compressor does contact the frame there, so it has to be notched for it to work. I think this is the main reasoning behind the relocation bracket...so you don't have to mess with the frame.

The vortec 350 or 5.7 is not an ls engine. The ac relocation brackets are for the lsx swaps where the ac is on the bottom and contacts the frame. I think you are getting the 2 engines mixed up because the relocation brackets are not for the vortec engines.

Yea, like the first two pics there are a couple mods to relocate the AC and alternator higher on the engine but still below the top to allow hood clearance.

My issue is that I would be looking to put in a minimal body lift that would serve my purposes of a future swap. Nothing too crazy but enough to also have tire clearance in the wheel wells.

Point was that the AC bracket would work on both the LS series engines and the following according to their website. So whether I used it on a Vortec or you wanted to use it on your over the top LS7 setup then it would still be serving the same purpose in the end by possibly allowing us to only us a 1" lift. Thanks though for pointing that out.
