i picked up a 99 5.7 from the junk yard yesterday. got it home and tore it down the pistons, crank, and cam, all look good, there was water in the oil, and coolent under the heads.

the heads and valves look like the bottom on the ocean with a pretty reef growing lol. i plan on chunking them i have another set that should be good. im buying new push rods.

the void under the intake alos looks bad, lots of rust and barnacle type things. this is where my questions lays, is it worth cleaning up or its that a bad sign. i put a socket on the crank and it turns fine. the pistons move freely.

any input is appreciated. keep it of take it back. pic's later

so im attempting to build another panhard bar(track bar) i have a in great shape, a drag link off a newer cherokee if i remove the end and replace them with bushing type ends it will be perfect length.

does anyone know what size and thread type the drag link ends are on this drag link.

what i have measured is 15/16 OD and 16tpi treads per inch. but im not finding anything to match this pattern

chine in sas guys

yep that is defently the problem, not the bushings, the track bar broke lol. it was moving inside if itself where the threads are. i am looking for a new one now

so i have a problem i dont know how to fix, and it just started about 500 miles of driving now to break it in and it just started, when i turn left it is great works perfect and turns on command, when i turn right it is hesitasting, i have to turn the wheel about half way before it responds, and sitting still it is moving the truck to the left before it turns the wheels.

is this a track bar issue maybe to long or loose, im going to look at it and see if i can tighen it up but i dont think its loose. still drives fine and handles fine, just cant very loose steering
