Hi I am posting this because my grandpas 1994 S10 Blazer is having problems and im having a hard time diagnosing them. Basically the throttle seems to be sticking because once you hit the gas it keeps going around 35 mph when you let off. Its hard to slow it down to come to a complete stop. Also when on the highway and going around 55 and above the engine seems to hesitate to keep speed. It doesnt stall just pulsates. I hooked it up to a scan tool at school and codes for the throttle positioning sensor, map sensor and egr came up. The blazer was idleing rough and i found the egr to be bad. So i replaced it. But still the throttle seems messed up and it hesitates on the highway. We checked the throttle positioning sensor and the spring worked and it was getting the right voltage across the scan tool. Any help would be appreciated, this is frustrating. It is the first generation vortech from 1994.

I had these tires on my ZR2 for about two months before it got totaled... Awesome tire! Im a BFG fan but coopers got my vote for this aggressive of a tire. Not loud on the highway at all for how aggressive, more than a all terrain though. Clean out great in the mud. Good road manners. I never got to try them in the snow but with the siping im sure they would be good. Oh and I had the 31X10.50 size and no change in gas milage. I got about 15 to 16 in town and 19 on the highway.

I am pretty sure those are the same as the goodyear wrangler duratracs. They are just probably specially made for walmart.

If your talking stock trucks id definaltly say ZR2. BFGs have more grip than the shitty tires that come with a Z71 colorado. Plus 5 cylinders are gay (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bobbytrendy.gif) lol

Well I got the evaluation on my truck from the insurance today as I had requested. Boy did they f up. First off they didnt even have the truck marked with the ZR2 option. Then all three other trucks they compared to mine for value were all regular S10 4X4s!!! Then they had marked the tires as good with 5-7/32s of tread! I just bought those Stts have atleast 14/32s on them. I called them and made sure they were gonna get it right! Dont let the insurace take advantage of you. Apparantly they dont know the difference of ZR2. I caught them though.

Well I got a 97 Ford Ranger Ext. cab 4X4. The truck has the 4.0 V6. It has enough power especially with the stock 235s lol Ill be upgrading to 31s soon. I already miss the 4.3 Vortech but I like stock ranger 4X4s better than stock S10 4X4s. Ill try to get some pics up soon. Oh and this is my first ext cab truck lol they are nice but those jump seats are kinda a joke. And insurance. dont even get me started. They try to screw everyone. I took the best of care of my ZR2 and have 2900 in reciepts to prove it. It doesnt matter to them.

therers.... can find another one for that price....

then theres.... want another one.

Lol I guess I wouldnt mind trying something else. I would get another ZR2 if it was the right truck for the right price. Besides ZR2s, camaros, and corvettes im not a big chevy fan. So im probably gonna buy a ford mabey a dodge.

Well I wont be able to get another ZR2 because I will only have like $2500 to spend. I have to take out loans for school this fall so I dont want to take out a vehicle loan. And I ve been looking especially on craigslist and I cant find many ZR2s cheaper than $5000. Although not as nice I think Im gonna get a 4X4 ranger. I have always liked them, owned one in the past, and they cost less to own than a ZR2 in my opinion. I wish I could get another regular cab ZR2 in the future but im sure most of them will be rusted out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mopin.gif) Ill see if I can take some pictures if I go back and see my truck.

Well today at about ten thirty I was making a left hand turn at an intersection. I had the yellow light and it was almost red( I coulda swore it turned red?) and I didnt see any on coming traffic so I proceded to turn. I got half way into the turn and at bam I was hit. Hard. I was hit by chevy 3/4 ton or a 3500 with a dump bed with a trailer on the back. He was going at least 40 mph. He hit me right in the front passeger side. My knee was alittle sore but NO ONE WAS HURT. I was spun around about 90 degrees. I am so aggrivated right now after a long day and talking to insurance. I have full coverage. I was put at fault and received an $83 fine but i am going to see if there was cameras at the intersection. Im pretty positive its totaled. Im sad about it. I had just got new Cooper STTs like a month ago and put quite a bit of work in the truck. So another regular cab bites the dust. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) I think im only gonna get like 2500 back from insurance so I wont have enough to get a ZR2. Im probably gonna get a ford ranger or dakota. Just thought Id let everyone know.

First off my truck does have 215000 miles. And I would assume since it was new its usual to have lost some power? The truck still seems to have adequate power just doesnt seem to have alot of snap to it. The truck pulls good at about 2000 rpm then again at 2800-3000 rpm but between 2100 and 2700 doesnt seem to make a huge difference. After about 4000 rpm doesnt seem to do much. Just wondering what anyone has to say.

QUOTE (chevy03 @ May 2 2009, 10:09 PM) *
I have an question... I am buying an 14 feet of pop up camper... And wondering it that will be ok to pull with my truck zr2 or it heavy to pull it?? Will it ruin the tranny or it will be ok to do it... I don't know how much it weight but my finacee dad told me that I might want to be carefull with my truck while I am pulling it and he said that he adivce is to get an V-8 truck that will pull better and better truck.. So I just asking everyone who has been pulling an camper before... I am buying it from friend of my cuz his parents is selling it.. It suppose to be $1,200 but I asked them can I pay for $850 so they accpect it.. So I buying it from them... I am not gettting it right away but don't know when.. so do guys think it will be ok for me to pull that camper with my truck. Sorry I don't have an pic of it...

My grandpa pulls a pop up camper like that with his 91 S10 blazer with the regular 4.3. Trailer brakes definatly help and I would recommend getting some if you tow frequently or long distance. A tranny cooler would be benificial too. And you should have a reciever hitch with the proper drop reciever and not use the bumper.

This thread is a good example of why you shouldnt leave your reciever in your hitch all the time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/readit.gif) lol

On my pickup i took the old square reciever hitch off and got a round tube one that is hidden. I am much happier with it. Mine is a curt.

I always liked Dakotas and Rangers. Regular s10 4X4s were just to low. My first truck was a mazda B3000 same as a ford ranger. I liked it and it was dependable but lacked power and an offroad package. ZR2s seemed like the perfect thing for me. A rear locker and skid plates made the difference between me buying a dakota. I am happy with my ZR2.

Well I returned the actuator and got a new one. Turns out the hole in the actuator was machined to big. So it was defective. Also the one vacuum line had to be replaced. My four wheel drive works now! Thank God. I can breathe again. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well I took it in today because I couldnt find the leak and they found it. It was just a vacuum hose. They said that the actuator I bought from oreilys isnt the right one. I thought they only make one? They said the cable doesnt stay in it so I will have to look at that myself.
